I failed miserably at my goal to read and blog 100 books in 2008. I blogged 28 and probably read about 50. (Check out my increasingly pathetic attempts for 2008!) Rather than lowering my expectations for 2009, I hope to rise to the occasion and read and blog 100 books this year!
Check out my bookshelf to the right to see some of the books I'm going to be reading this year. One of my secondary goals is to clear off my "to read" shelf by the end of the year. While there are always new and wonderful books to read, I sometimes feel guilty buying them when I have two full shelves of unread or unfinished books at home. :)
I have joined a book club with the teachers at Grimsley High School. There are several more books on their list for the year, so I'll be reading those as they come along, starting with Jodi Picoult's Nineteen Minutes, which is apparently about how school violence affects a small Northeastern Town.
I received lots of books for Christmas this year. Those are probably the ones I'll read first. I'm also desperate to get my hands on a copy of Brisingr by Christopher Paolini. I can't wait to see how the Inheritance trilogy will wind up.
Although, according to my self-prescribed rules for 2008, the books I'm currently reading won't count towards my 100, I'll probably blog those first as I finish them.
