16 - Camilla by Madeleine L'Engle
Because I love all things L'Engle, I was thrilled to find this in a lovely hardcover edition at B&N for next to nothing the other day. I tried to read it when I was younger, but I didn't like it much. I remember being so terribly disappointed that Madeleine L'Engle had written something I didn't like. I think, though, that part of the problem is that I was just too young for it. It's kind of a grown up novel with lots of heavy themes. Also, it has no science in it at all. It's a love story, really. I still didn't love it like I love the Time Quartet, but it was much more enjoyable as an adult. It kind of makes me itch to go back and read some of the Austin books. We'll see.
